View my  tour of Iceland

I first went to Iceland in 1969 and have returned many times since. I have many friends there and have learned a little of the language. I was fortunate to be in Iceland when the volcano Hekla erupted in 1980.

Later I also became interested in other northern countries. I have been to Greenland three times - to the west, east and south.

I took this picture near Sarqaq in West Greenland

Also I have been twice to the Faroe Islands.

I think Greenland is the most beautiful country I have visited, but I was made very welcome in the Faroe Islands by the charming people. The Faroese language is quite similar to Icelandic so I was able to get by.
