Keratella
with eggs
The Keratella is carrying an eggshell of a
parthenogenetic egg, and a heap of male eggs. Possibly the embryo from the
parthenogenetic egg hatched, and the shell stayed attached to the female, who
then produced the male eggs in response to some environmental cue triggering
the sexual cycle.
