Through the first gate, and we can begin to enjoy the sunshine


10:43 am.
There is also a view behind us as we look back over the forestry. You might meet a few cows at this point.


11:03 am. Altitude 400 metres.
We rise steeply to the second of the two gates.

Soon we get an even better view to the south over Loch Lomond and its islands


Ahead, the summit apears as we start on a lengthy section where the path rises very gently and we can relax for a while


11:40 am.
To the right is the hummock, Sithean (744 metres)

and to the left we can see across to the Ptarmigan ridge (751 metres) which will be our return route from the summit

Exactly two thirds of the way up, and there's a comfortable rock to lie on
I'm going to stop for a rest
